Srija is telling all these stories to us through the media but the real story is that Chiranjeevi, his wife Surekha and his son Ram Charan Tej are in London for the past 10 to 15 days to avoid all these gossips, rumours, news etc. Chiru and his family are relaxing there and he is planning his next move there.

Abhishek, Aishwarya visit dargah in Andhra Pradesh

Film actor Abhishek Bachchan and his wife Aishwarya Rai Thursday offered prayers at the shrine of Ameen Peer in Kadpa town of Andhra Pradesh. The couple offered a chadar and flowers at the shrine, also knows as Bade Dargah, and spent some time there. Jaya Bachchan and Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh accompanied them.Since women are not allowed inside the sanctum sanctorum, only Abhishek went inside while Aishwarya offered prayers at the entrance.Clad in a white kurta payjama and wearing a skull cap, Abhishekh carried flowers on his head to the dargah while Aishwarya, who was wearing a golden colour sari and had covered her head with its border, stood in respect.Devotees believe that wishes are fulfilled at the dargah of Ameer Peer, a saint who was said to have come from Bidar in Karnataka 400 years ago.The couple reached Kadpa town by a helicopter from Bangalore. They headed straight to a guesthouse and later arrived at the dargah, where a large number of people gathered to catch a glimpse of the stars.Police had a tough time in controlling the crowds who jostled and tried to get closer to the actors. The dargah committee members welcomed the stars and explained to them the significance of the place. They later returned to Bangalore.Amar Singh told newsmen that they got peace and solace at the dargah. 'We would like to come here again and again,' he said.Abhishek and Aishwarya had visited the famous Hindu temple at Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh a day after their marriage in April this year. Bipasha Basu Caught Kissing Cristiano Ronaldo at Lisbon

Bipasha Basuwas in Lisbon to announce the 7 Wonders of the World but little did she know that this trip will change things for her back home so drastically. Soon after her return to India, the newspapers reported that Bips got very cosy with the Portuguese football star, Cristiano Ronaldo. To add to her horror, this story was supported with picture of hers and the 22-yr old footballer getting intimate in a discotheque.
It is said that Bips and the football star were spotted flirting with each other and dancing together in a club at Lisbon all night. The above picture is enough to explain the intimacy between the two.Bipasha however, has a different story to say. Bips says that she became a football fan ever since she started dating John Abraham and that she is Cristiano’s fan since a while now. She bonded well when she met him at Lisbon and they soon became great pals. Interestingly, during their meet, Bips came to know that Cristiano is a big fan of Bollywood himself. While mitigating the reports about flirting and kissing Cristiano, Bipasha agrees that the photograph is not doctored and taken from a cell phone. She claims that it wasn’t a kiss and elucidates that Cristiano had leaned over to say something in her ear and camera caught them in that unfortunate moment. She rubbishes the rumors that Cristiano kissed her saying that she would never get carried away with a 22 year old boy.

Aaja Nachle a preview

She was the life of Shamli. And then she made one mistake - she fell in love. The town never forgave her and she never forgave the town. She made a new life, far away from her past. But now the man, who taught her how to dance and how to live, is no more. And he has left behind a job for her. She has to go back to the town... and teach it how to dance again.Radha (Dalai)Her mother may be born in Shamli, but Radha is so born in New York. She knows less Hindi than an Indian parrot and has more ideas on managing her mom's life than a shrink. The only problem is that Shamli is not New York. And everybody except for Radha knows this.Doctor (Raghubir Yadav)Nobody knows what his real name is, but Ajanta's old caretaker wears a cap on his head and many hearts on his sleeve, all bleeding for the cause of theatre. He is Dia's support system in her fight, which becomes a battle and then a war.Imran (Kunal Kapoor)Local toughie, Imran, believes that tough guys don't dance and romance is for wimps. Unfortunately for him, Dia thinks otherwise and makes him the lead actor in her theatrical production, where he has to do only two things - dance and romance. He has seen a lot of rough stuff, but is Imran prepared for this?Anokhi (Konkona Sen)Anokhi, as the line in Godfather the novel says, is a force of nature, not truly subject to control. Whether it is her perpetually running nose, or her penchant of coming up with the most imaginative abuses. Anokhi is truly anokhi (different). Dia finds something unique in her and takes the chance of her life. Trouble is, Anokhi cannot sing or dance to save her life, or Dia's.Mohan Sharma (Ranvir Shorey)Owner of the town cafĂ©, Mohan nurses a decade-old story of unrequited love. Dia's sudden arrival leaves him feeling vulnerable again. Although he is initially confused about his feelings, Mohan gradually comes around to assisting Dia in her endeavour to save Ajanta, even though this could open old wounds.Mr. Chojar (Vinay Pathak)Chojar saab, in his own words, is Shamli's responsible government official. His relationship with his boss can be summed up in two words: “Yes Sir”, spoken with eyes examining the floor; and that with the rest of the world in four words: “Put it in writing”, spoken with a sense of mysterious knowingness. From the day Dia moved into his home as a paying guest, his married life is in upheaval. But sometimes, upheaval is good.Chaudhary Om Singh (Akhilendra Mishra)Chaudhary Om Singh, the local ex-MLA is a typical politician - he never takes a stand in any issue. A snake in search of opportunities, he is out of power since the last election. And Dia's arrival has given him just the issue he needed. Or has it?Sanjeev Mehta (Jugal Hansraj)Accountant Sanjeev Mehta joins Dia's troupe to sell insurance policies and stocks, not to dance. But as the dancing starts, he enters a world which his accountant mind had never imagined before.S.H.O. Singh (Yashpal Sharma)As a young constable he saw his friend Mohan go to pieces when he had his heart broken, a decade ago. As he watches Mohan help Dia in her mission, Station House Officer Singh has only one aim – to protect Mohan from another heart-break. But how does he protect a man from himself?Dhan Kuber (Nowaz)Irrepressible, outspoken, liberal, Dhan Kuber is last thing a vagabond should be. But ever since Dia has come back, nothing in Shamli is as it should be. And now he has to choose whose side he is on - the town which feeds his stomach, or the woman who feeds his soul.Makarand (Darshan Zariwala)It's a pity Makarand is no more. Because if he was, he would love to be in this story. How do you introduce a man who is so many things? Artist, singer, writer, dancer, philosopher, hippie... he is the man who taught young Dia how to dance and how to live. The man who single handedly kept dance alive in Shamli, till the modern age caught up with his art. And the man who died leaving his favourite pupil some homework - to teach dance to a town that has forgotten it.SynopsisAfter nearly a decade, an unexpected phone call shakes Dia (Madhuri Dixit) out of her dance rehearsal in New York. Makarand (Darshan Zariwala), her teacher, her guru, is dying and she must return to Shamli town. The town where she grew up, the town where she learnt to live and to dance. Also the town she left on an impulse, severing ties with her parents and her people. It is a poignant and troubled return; not only has her guru passed away but the institution that he so lovingly nurtured is in decay and under threat of demolition. Ajanta theatre, the once vibrant hub of the community, the place where Dia's fondest memories are embedded must now be brought down because the local political authorities feel it a waste of prime real estate. With the help of Doctor (Raghubir Yadav), the caretaker of Ajanta, Dia sets out on a mission to prevent the destruction and resurrect the spirit of Ajanta. In an atmosphere of mistrust, ridicule and active hostility, Dia picks up the gauntlet and agrees to achieve the near impossible task of putting together a theatrical production. She must also ensure that every member of the production is from Shamli town. She has only two months to prove her point or the bulldozers will be waiting. In this context begins her tumultuous journey of dealing with small town prejudices, encountering the resentment of the powerful contractor, the cynicism of the local political powers, resolve the delicate tensions of inter personal relationships and rally her motley team of non starters - a low level muscle Imran (Kunal Kapoor), the local tomboy Anokhi (Konkona Sen), local ex-MLA Chaudhary Om Singh (Akhilendra Mishra), a vulnerable tea stall owner Mohan Sharma (Ranvir Shorey), a responsible government official Mr. Chojar (Vinay Pathak), a struggling insurance agent Sanjeev Mehta (Jugal Hansraj), the town vagabond Dhankuber (Nowaz) and a host of others. She must create in this chaos in order to save Ajanta... in order to preserve what her guru so lovingly nurtured. She must create art in order to preserve what she believes is the soul of society. The stage is finally set... Will it work? Won't it?Lights dim.Crowds quieten.Curtains rise on Ajana.

Chiranjeevi likely to do a couple of films

V V Vinayak is said to be working on a script exclusively for the mega star. Though Chiranjeevi is currently traveling and will be back after a short break abroad, filmmakers are slowly gearing up to finalise films with him.
Given the personal crisis that Chiranjeevi had to face in the recent days, many in the industry feel that working would de-stress him tremendously.
Also, there is news that Shankar may be making a movie with the mega star. Only recently, Shah Rukh Khan has refused to do his dream venture Robot.
So, now it is heard that he may be doing a film with Chiranjeevi meanwhile, even as he searches for someone to replace the King Khan in Robot.

Navavasantam Review hit hit

Nava Vasantham is a tale of four friends. There is nothing very new — the typical Nava Vasantham (RB Chowdary's earlier movie in the 90s in Tamil) kind of story. But in this remake of yet another Tamil film Punnagai Desai, romance has a more prominent part to play along with the thread of friendship. The treatment by K. Shahjahan is decent because nobody gets too unnatural and over-emotional at any point. Parents do not understand the talent in their children and try to downplay it. So three friends in the village, Prasad (Akash), Raja (Rohit) and Vijay (Sunil) walk out of their homes. It is Destination Hyderabad. There, another of their friends, Ganesh (Tarun), a lover duped by his own uncle, joins them. Their experiences in the city are what Nava Vasantham is all about. Tarun has an expressive face and shoulders the responsibility of the hero with ease. He suits the soft role of a pining lover and a sincere friend, very well. His voice and diction are so soft and friendly in this film. Sunil has well driven into the role of a mimicry master. The undercurrent of humour in his characterization throughout is a positive aspect of Nava Vasantham. Ganesh comes down from the village to meet his uncle and his daughter, (Priyamani) whom he has not met since childhood. But why they have not seen each other for so many years is an unsolved mystery. S.A. Rajkumar, the composer, has the knack of aping his own tunes. He does it again in this film. The screenplay reaches ridiculous and dramatic levels in the climax — when parents are advised, true friendship is underlined and lovers are united. The raw deal aggravates — because the entire show is a live telecast! Probably the director is trying to make a valid point — that our channels are so starved of programmes that even family re-unions can make entertaining live telecasts! All said and done, Nava Vasantham certainly holds out something entertaining to the family crowds, who are vexed with formulaic violence-dominant films.

saawariya review

Saawariya ReviewCast: Ranbir Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Zohra Sehgal, Salman Khan, Rani MukerjiDirector: Sanjay Leela BhansaliBanner/Producer: Sony Pictures Limited and Sanjay Leela BhansasliMusic: Monty SharmaStar Rating: * ½Sanjay Leela Bhansali has always had the penchant for making visually mesmerizing films. But with Saawariya, this penchant has turned into an obsession, making the director completely ignore the singular most important aspect of fine, emotionally gripping cinema – the screenplay! It seems like Bhansali forgot to write the screenplay because all he had to do was to read and re-read Fyodor Dostoevsky's Russian short story, 'White Nights' a couple of times, and leave the rest to his cinematographer Ravi K Chandran and Art Directors, Omung Kumar and Vanita Omung Kumar. Well, long story short, Saawariya is a landmark fiasco artfully orchestrated by one of our finest (or so we thought) filmmakers, Sanjay Leela Bhansali. While the promos gave us the feel of a fairy tale love story set in a picturesque…well, someplace… watching the movie still gives you absolutely no clue about where this someplace is or in which century exactly this story is set in. Can this be Russia and the year 1848 (The year White Nights was published)? Oops! No, It can't be! It clearly is not Russia, because the people speak Hindi and it's definitely not 1848 because they have high tech gadgets such as the 'The Telephone' and 'Iron Box', which didn't exist back then. So, where and what is this place Mr. Bhansali, and why are all the women except Sonam, her immediate family, and Ranbir's prostitute friends, dressed in western outfits? The entire place is very western and has no signs of anything Indian except for the skin colour of the people who strut about the streets in manufactured plasticity. Eureka! This must be an Indian settlement in Russia! Or is it not? Why couldn't you have made it easy for us Mr. Bhansali? Two words to describe Saawariya, 'Comatose Magnificence'. The visuals are sheer poetry. Wrapped in the brilliance of the hypnotizing visuals, the soul of the story lies lifeless under the labyrinth of Bhansali's idea of fantasy and splendour. With it's strong storyline, Saawariya could've become a beautiful rendition of an emotionally moving tale immortalized on celluloid. But what is offered to us on screen is a doused down, emotionless story entrapped in the clouded finery of Bhansali's imagination.Ranbir Raj (Ranbir Kapoor) is a struggling musician who moves into the 'mystery town' and wins Lillypop's (Zohra Sehgal) heart and becomes her paying guest cum foster son. While he sings in a local bar to earn his living during the nights, he roams about quite aimlessly during the day and sometimes performs Bollywood-ish song-dance routines with the prostitutes (who seem to infest the 'mystery town') on the road and spends his life doing pretty much nothing else! One day he sees Sakina (Sonam Kapoor) standing in a bridge all by herself, crying her heart out. So, as any man would do, in the middle of the night, he goes up to her (very cheap!) and starts making small talk (read flirt) with her. In the four nights that follow, the shy Muslim girl becomes Ranbir's friend, while Ranbir falls in love with her. But Sakina has a past. She is waiting for her lover, Iman (Salman Khan) to comeback from 'wherever' he went a year ago and marry her. Ranbir tries to convince her that he is never going to return, and she almost believes him. But in the end, Iman returns and Sakina and Iman live happily ever after, while Ranbir goes back to his old life. Oh! And we almost forgot, Rani Mukerji is Gulab the prostitute. She has no role except to show off her designer clothes and add to the (so called) glamour value to the movie!Reading into the characterization, Zohra Sehgal's is the only character in the film that is well developed and makes any sign of emotion flicker within you. Ranbir's character has absolutely no clue in life whatsoever. It doesn't stop there; his character is extremely annoying and completely juvenile. He does all sorts of annoying antics that'll make you want to slap him if he were doing it to you. For instance, there is a boxing sequence that Ranbir does to Sonam (he just boxes with thin air, actually) when they first meet. Any sane woman in her right mind would want to run away from a close-to-psycho character like that and never ever want to meet him again for the rest of his life. And, this is only the tip of the iceberg! Sonam's character is no exception. For someone who is so convinced that her lover would meet her on the destined date, she flickers and wavers and nearly falls in love with another man when Salman Khan doesn't turn up on the dot! Without thinking twice, she grabs the opportunity (Ranbir Kapoor) and agrees to marry him, without even bothering to wait for her old lover!A few questions for Mr. Bhansali…1. The biggest most burning question – When and where is this movie set?2. Why do you have serial lights everywhere – Under the bridge, around the clock, lining the boats? 3. Why do the costumes for the junior artistes look like you have picked them up from suburban Mumbai, while the costumes for the lead artistes look like they are from some another long-lost bygone era? 4. Does Salman Khan wear waterproof clothes? Or is it divine intervention that his clothes dry instantly after just being drenched in the rain when he first meets Sonam? 5. Why does Sonam stand in the bridge night after night when she knows very well that Salman would come back only on Eid day? Loose ends aplenty, Saawariya is a stage play that has been shot on film and projected in large screen. Apart from the lead characters, the junior artists are pathetic actors. It is very annoying to go through the horrible acting ordeal that Bhansali puts us through. Zohra Sehgal is an absolute pleasure to watch. She is brilliant! Ranbir is talented, but overacts and annoys perfectly well. He certainly deserved a better debut. Bhansali's direction spoiled him. Sonam is beautiful, gracious and sheer pleasure to watch. She emotes well and carries her character with elan and poise. Thumbs up to Sonam! So much has been said about the cinematography and sets. Absolutely no flaws there – First class and fantastic. The intent behind these magnificent sets are questionable though. Why is everything grey? Is he trying to portray gloom? Even if he is, what are the semiotics behind creating a dark town such as this? It doesn't seem to fit. Bhansali seems to have forgotten that semiotics work only when incorporated with style and purpose. There seem to be a lot of symbols, but there are no allusions to any of them in the movie. Disappointing.Monty Sharma's music is pleasant and moving. His tunes are a fine mix of melodies that add substance to the dull screenplay. Thumbs up!All in all, Saawariya is a costly effort gone wrong. Bhansali's brilliance has taken a new meaning with this movie sending waves of disappointment across the country. Saawariya is synthetic

om shanti om movie review

Om Shanti OmCast: Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Shreyas Talpade, Arjun Rampal, Kirron KherDirector: Farah KhanProducer: Gauri KhanMusic Director: Vishal-ShekharRating: *** Movies on reincarnation have not really been accepted by audiences, be it the musical Karz or multi-starrer Kudrat that have both bitten dust. Karan Arjun is one example when the theme did well and Om Shanti Om is interesting because Shah Rukh tries it again and looks like he is certain to be the only actor with multiple hits in the same theme. The story is about Om (Shah Rukh) who is a junior artist and falls in love with the superstar heroine Shantipriya (Deepika). He manages to become her friend after saving her from a fire but soon discovers that his lady love is actually married to a producer Mukesh Mehra (Arjun Rampal). But Mukesh wants to hide the marriage till his film is over, because he understands that no one would be interested in watching a married heroine. But things get out of hand for him when he realizes that Shantipriya is pregnant. He burns her alive at the sets of his film so that his dream of becoming the biggest name in the industry isn't hampered. Om is killed in it too while he tries to save the lady.Flash Forward 30 years later Om is back and this time as the fire-fearing superstar. As other rebirth movies, Om too is haunted by visuals when he sees a fire. And soon he remembers all and is determined that his 'punar janam' be for a purpose. (Kahani abhi baaki hai mere dost!) He sets out to restart the stalled film on the same set where Shantipriya was murdered and gets Mukesh to agree to produce it. But Mukesh wants a proper replacement for Shantipriya. And bingo! Om gets one.The first half, which shows the typical 70s, is overdramatic in every aspect and takes you into a nostalgic trip. The dialogues are very appropriate and so is the way they are delivered. But it does get overboard at time in terms of the present day. The second half starts off with some abrupt cuts but quickly picks up and moves smoothly towards a very twisted end. From the production point of view, Om Shanti Om has good photography, sets and background music. The playback music is a highlight with the choreography just helping the cause. The 31-star song is one of the highlights of the movie. Every soul in the theatre would be excited to see so many past and present stars in one song and all of them enacting a trademark step. And the special effects used in the movie are first grade. Specially the sequences where Deepika is shown dancing with the actors like Sunil Dutt and Jeetendra. However all these praises dont makes OSO a flawless film. In fact it has plenty. The dialogues do get monotonous. The story lacks newness. There is visible abruptness here and there, especially when Om realizes his rebirth and he meeting his mother of the previous birth. Also Sandy's - who is Shantipriya's look-alike - casual attitude about her acting despite the fact that she had come for an audition is not digestible. And yes, Shah Rukh's hair suddenly got longer during the song Dard-e-disco. Cinematic liberty?Acting wise Shah Rukh is back to his melodramatic self. Shreyas is good in the first half. The second half hardly offers him any scope and reduces him to a junior artist. Kirron Kher too is made overact, which she does. Arjun Rampal underplays his role and is good. Which brings us to Deepika - This one is a revelation and a find. She shows the capability to develop into a good actress.Overall, you got to give this one to Farah Khan for being so honest that her's is a masala movie and she has no qualms about it. The movie consists of all the elements that are essentially called the 'navratnas' of Indian cinema - from joy to grief to romance to revenge. And she mixes these well to cook up a potboiler, which is sure to be a run away hit.And yes, this one has the Farah Khan of end credits. All those who are related are shown on screen right from Gauri Khan to spot boys. Enough to keep people at the seats even during the end credits!

'Don' to hit screen on December 20

Choreographer-turned-director Raghava Lawrence would also prove himself as music director this time, says Nagarjuna during his birthday celebrations.
It may be mentioned here that Lawrence is directing Nagarjuna again for 'Don' produced by ML Kumar Choudary on the banner of Sri Keerthi Creations with Anushka in the female lead.
He is making his debut as music director through this film.
Speaking about the film 'Don', Nagarjuna says, 'The 'Don' has nothing to do with mafia, but it is a Robin Hood kind of character. The story, however, was woven around a fight between the Mumbai mafia don and Hyderabad mafia don. Lawrence had scripted a fantastic screenplay and the movement of the story would be quite thrilling. We are planning to release the film on December 20.'
